Red/Brown to Blond.. How??

i am currently a red/brown head. and i dont like the colour much. i have deep blu eyes and the colour of my hair doesnt show them off. i would rlly love to try blond. but i am unsure of how to make the transition.. help please.

whatever you do, dont bleach.

do what i did, multi-dimensional blonde highlights. they cover your whole head in 2-3 different blonde shades, but it doesnt look like highlights.
