Actually, doesn't matter what color hair the parents have. The child can have either parent's or be a throwback to another generation. Out of my siblings, 4 out of 6 did not have either parent's hair color. My parents were both born blond, but sometime in the early 20s, my Mom's hair turned to light brown and Dad's to black. I have 2 siblings who had this weird hair color change. Two who were born blonde and stayed that way. My brother and I have the hair color of our paternal grandmother (dark brunette).
