Convince me to dye my hair...?

My hair is a very dull light brown/ blond I like that color its just my hair color looks so dull. So I have been getting highlights which makes it look so great, but its too expensive to keep going back to a stylist. I want to dye my hair brown, because going darker is much better than bleaching it blond. My skin tone is a kinda pale. What color brown? I'm not good with deciding on change, but once im set I do it. How do I convince myself?

Convince me to dye my hair...?

Go to a salon to have your hair dyed the first time, the stylist would be able to pick a good color to match your skin tone. Ask her what the name and shade are of the color. When it's time to do your roots, go to the store and pick a color with in 3 shades lighter or darker of the color you have. Most hair colors now have technology to give you highlights as you color. Or you can also buy a separate kit. Coloring your own hair is really easy, as long as you follow the directions.

I like the Ultress brand. L'Oreal is good too.

golden brown or auburn

Can double-processed hair be low-lighted?

I recently had my hair double-processed to an all-over blond and I'm really not happy with how it looks. I went back to the salon and had low-lights added in two different colors; the sides took really well and I'm pleased with how that area looks. My problem is with my crown area and the area just around my face. It is a very orangey-yellow blond without much dimension, and looks very artificial, especially in comparison to rest of my hair. The stylist said that the crown area was too porous to take the lowlights....I understand the concept of bleaching and porousity; my question is more of what my next step should be. Before all this I was a light ashy brown heavily highlighted to a light cool blonde. I would really like to get back to this look (with more dimension) as soon as I can. I'm really fair and this color really looks awful with my skin. Please help, I feel quite ugly and have a class reunion coming up in a little over a month! Thanks for your help!

Can double-processed hair be low-lighted?

Your stylist is right. With so much damage from the bleach, and double processing, there's not much you can do. I guess you could try extensions, or putting your hair up in a ponytail then adding on a hairpiece to that (they are much cheaper and look nice for special occasions). Other than that, you're gonna have to keep trimming it and letting it grow out again.

Can double-processed hair be low-lighted?

cut it all off and buy a wig! lol!

Can double-processed hair be low-lighted?

I agree with the second poster. I also wouldn't put your hair through any more trauma than it has already been in because your crown area sounds like it is just too damaged too take any more coloring. Think of your hair like a sponge; a fresh sponge works really well, soaking up everything, but as the sponge wears out, it just doesn't hold anything anymore. You can always wear a head band for your reunion, they're are in this year. :)

HELP! I dyed my hair a light beige blond, but the top came out as a light orangy color!?

I dyed my hair a couple days a go a light beige blond, like the color of Blake Lively's hair on GossipGirl. If any of you know who that is. Well, it was supposed to turn out like that. The top of my hair where my roots are turned out a reddy blondy ugly color, and then the other half is a nice blond i was aiming for. I used Loreal Paris excellence in Ultra light beige blond. Before my hair was a dirty blond with bright blond streaks in it. It looked nice but i was getting sick of it. My roots were coming in, and there like a light brown. So I thought I'd get my whole head blond, and make a change. But what can I do!! I wasn't aiming for that golden, reddish blond look. And my roots don't even match the bottom part of my hair. Should I try a different hair dye, or should I go to a professional. And I need to change it fast, because my color isnt the best. I just need to know whats the best for my hair, and get those reddy tones out fast!!

I think you should leave that too a pro, because who knows how you might ruin it now.

Do it again or go to a professional and beg for help!

Go to a professional before it gets worse. If you tried to re-dye it yourself, you could damage it way too much, and still not have it come out right.

They're used to dealing with that kind of thing, and should be able to fix it no problem.

I have white blond hair (bleached) and want to go back dark blond. Any ideas how? Any suggestions?

GO TO A SALON.

Your hair needs a filler! Basically, its like priming your hair for color. Because your hair is sooo white blonde, it will take color differently then if your hair had some pigment. It will take a few processes to get it where you want it.

Don't get discouraged, it probably won't take the first time, your hair will need a few processes to get it there.

Adding color is much better for your hair then bleaching it out.

GOOD LUCK!!!

lowlights!! have your stylist weave a few different shade's of darker blonde throughout your hair, it look's so much better than going all one tone.

Hello!!

It is possible. You can get bald. When the new hairs will grow, it will have original color.

lowlights are a good idea but be careful if you have natural red in your hair cause the bleach will make it orange

either risk it %26amp; dye it youself OR go to a salon %26amp; get it done right...

You need to go and have it done of course, but i think you should go with a deep dark mocha brown underneath and then have the styelist put some dark brown and light brown chunks on top. I think that would be cute! Good luck with that hair girl! Muha! =P

Go to Sally beauty supply. Buy a highlighting kit. It comes with a cap w/ holes in it. put the cap on your hair (dry hair) use the hook to pull strands the size you would like your highlights to be. mix the bleach powder with the developer (comes in kit) completely and evenly saturate every strand with the mixture. Leave on hair until you reach your desired level of lightness. Looks can be deceiving! It may LOOK light enough, but actually be yellow/orange when rinsed out. check lightness by rubbing mixture off one strand with a paper towel. Then reapply until light enough. For ultra light strands you may have to wait 30-60 minutes.

Be careful! Especially if you have never done it before. You could end up with orange hair! i would go to a good salon.

Natural blond- Current dark brown wants to get to Platinum Blond.?

I currently have a dark brown hair color since my black has faded. I haven't dyed my hair in 1.5 months. I'm a NATURAL BLOND

I'm going to do a hot oil treatment tomorrow because my hair really needs it. This weekend I plan to start the bleaching.

My friend has told me what she did to get platinum, but she won't be instate for the holidays.

So- if any of you have done a bleaching at home tell me of your experience.

1) clairols one 'n only color fix -- will this take me to my original blond?

2) bleach it -- She did not tell me if I wait after I stripe it, or bleach it the same day I strip.

3) Blue or violet corrective base toner -- Did not tell me how to use the toner. I think it goes into my bleaching kit the first time? If anyone knows tell me.

4) Wait. -- Give it about a week to two weeks before I do the second bleaDo some deep conditioning treatments %26amp; hot oil treatments %26amp; hot oil treatments during this time.

5) Second bleaching -- Do I put a toner in this too or just use it?

Natural blond- Current dark brown wants to get to Platinum Blond.?

Please don't do it. This is a very risky thing you are doing and if you mess it up, even the best most EXPENSIVE colorist might not be able to fix it completely. I know cause I tried to bleach died brown hair once and it was a disaster. Save yourself time and money and go to a salon. You will save money in the long run.

My hair looks like straw?

I am a guy, so I don't do anything to my hair like blow dry or straighten it. I also don't dye my hair, but my hair still looks extremely dry. It is blond so it looks like straw when I don't have gel in it. What products should I use and how often so my hair doesn't look dry as I grow it out?

My hair looks like straw?

sometimes when hair is dry it's because it has too much moisture in it, in these cases 'revitalising shampoo' for dry hair makes it worse because it's the opposite of what your hair needs.

I've had the same problem, and my brother too. It's expensive, but the Redken Extreme Range really work.

My hair looks like straw?

If you swim or go in the hot tub it could be chlorine build up. Use a clarifying shampoo if this is the case. It will get better as it grows out.

My hair looks like straw?

TAKE A SHOWER!!!!

My hair looks like straw?

do you swim? do you have well water? this could be a build up of minerals. if it is you could use professional products like malibu for swimmers or for hard water. or you could use one tablespoon baking soda and one tableaspoon clarifing shampoo mix and leave on for 5 min. this will strip your hair so you dont want to do often. after you rinse you should apply a thick conditioner and leave on for 10 min to reseal your hair
